Climate Change Law Roundtable

OIKON MEA took part in the Climate Change Law Roundtable hosted by PwC Middle East in Dubai, marking this year’s UAE National Environment Day in a meaningful way.

The event brought together legal experts, sustainability leaders, and business executives to discuss the UAE’s new climate change law. The discussion focused on practical impact. Participants examined what the new legal framework means for companies on the ground, especially in relation to emissions tracking, ESG reporting, and future disclosure duties.

The conversation moved beyond legal text. It addressed how organisations can build solid internal systems to measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions, prepare for stricter reporting rules, and respond to rising investor and public scrutiny.

Drawing on experience from the EU and Australia, we discussed how clear rules can support better risk management and stronger governance. Well-designed climate action does not only ensure compliance. It creates stability, improves decision-making, and protects long-term business value.

The roundtable confirmed that the UAE is entering a new phase of climate governance. Companies that act early, invest in robust data systems, and align strategy with regulation will be in a stronger position as the framework evolves.

OIKON MEA remains committed to supporting organisations in the region with practical, science-based solutions that turn climate obligations into clear business opportunities.
