Immersive Two-Week Study Visit at Al Masaood Automobiles in Abu Dhabi

Over two weeks, OIKON and OIKON MEA teams had the opportunity to undertake an intensive and thoughtfully structured study visit across Al Masaood Automobiles’ operations in Abu Dhabi, guided by a simple but powerful idea: understand the business by walking it end-to-end.

From day one, we were welcomed with an exceptionally high level of preparation, openness, and outstanding hospitality, which allowed us to gain real insight into how the organisation works in practice.

We followed vehicles and parts from inbound logistics through customer delivery, engagement, and after-sales – observing how decisions are made, how standard operating procedures are applied, and how teams coordinate work in practice.

Each day concluded with a shared understanding of one part of the operating model, with direct implications for strategy development, the GRI report, and the GHG inventory. These were approached not as standalone outputs, but as connected elements of a single management system, linking strategy and execution.

Throughout the study, it became clear Al Masaood Automobiles operates from a position of long-established market leadership in Abu Dhabi, built on operational excellence, strong government and fleet relationships, and a deeply embedded service culture. We also saw how customer preferences are shaped not only by technical considerations, but by trust, continuity, and cultural context – factors that meaningfully influence how the business performs on the ground.

This was a valuable reminder that credible strategy and reporting start with understanding how the business actually works.
